A review written in the first hour after a bad checkout usually reads like the hour felt. That is a shame, because the factual version is the one that works: it survives moderation, it reads as credible to the next guest, and it gives the host nothing to argue with. This generator builds that version. Tick only what actually happened, add the cleaning fee figure if there was one, and copy the result. Every sentence in the output comes from a box you ticked. The generator adds nothing on its own.
Tool
Build a factual review
At checkout, the host required us to:
About fees, disclosure and how it was raised:
Balance, if it is true:
What not to write, even when it feels true
Do not accuse the host of motives. "Tried to scam us" and "too lazy to clean" are claims about intent that you cannot prove, and they are the lines most likely to get a review removed. The task list makes the point on its own.
Do not declare a legal verdict. Write what was asked and what was charged. Skip "broke the law" and "violated policy" as conclusions; a reader who sees the facts reaches the conclusion without help.
Do not include personal details. No surnames, phone numbers, addresses or photos of people. Reviews with personal information breach platform policy and come down.
Do not threaten or bargain. "Refund me or this stays up" turns a review into leverage, and platforms treat it that way. If money is owed, the [appeal toolkit](appeal-toolkit.html) is the channel for it, kept separate from the review.
Do not round up. Twenty minutes of chores described as "hours of cleaning" undermines the true parts. Exact is stronger.
Why this shape works
The generator orders facts the way a reader weighs them: what was required, what it cost, whether it was disclosed, and then balance. That order is also how a support agent reads a dispute file, so the same ticked facts can seed the evidence pack in the appeal toolkit if the stay escalated beyond a review. If the checkout asks are still sitting in a message thread and you want to answer before reviewing, the templates library has the reply versions.
Frequently asked questions
Why keep the review factual?
A review that lists what was asked, what was charged and what was disclosed survives moderation, reads as credible to the next guest, and gives the host nothing to dispute. Motives and character judgements do the opposite, and they can get an otherwise accurate review removed.
Will the generator add anything I did not select?
No. Every sentence in the output comes from a box you ticked or the cleaning fee figure you typed. If a fact is not in the checklist, the generator cannot invent it, and you should add it in your own words only if you can stand over it.
Can a host get a factual review removed?
Airbnb removes reviews that break its reviews policy, for example reviews with personal details, threats or content unrelated to the stay. A stay-focused account of the checkout itself sits inside the policy. Keep the messages and photos from the stay until the review window closes.
